Nature Tic-Tac-Toe

Hey Kind Families,

Today has been one of those days where homeschooling felt like it took forever. The kids weren't super focused but I wasn't really either. There were definitely a few moments where I had to recenter myself so I could focus and one way I do that is by heading outside of course. A few days back we found some pine needles that have beautiful a woven pattern that feels smooth, yet bumpy. I knew it would be a great play material imediately but didn't know in what way exactly.

Today I set it out and my 7 year old happened to come over while I did. He said, "mommy, let's play Tic-Tac-Toe and of course it was a great idea. First we gathered a few flowers and leaves. Then we layed the pine needles out into squares. Playing together definitely helped to lighten the mood and the feel of the house. We love gameschooling and even have a printable in our shop based on this activity. Check it out here.
